Emerson Climate Technologies offers a complete line of refrigerant solenoid valves, but that’s not where the benefits end. The exciting new story is the redesigned internal construction of the solenoid valves. Emerson features proprietary gasket technology on the 100RB, 200RB and 500RB solenoid valve lines, which virtually guarantees hermetic performance over the life of the valve while still allowing field serviceability. Because this new technology is available for field serviceable solenoid valves, the gasket can be replaced for “new valve” performance. But the Emerson design innovations extend far beyond the gaskets. Corrosion-resistant stainless steel enclosing tubes come standard on every Emerson solenoid valve. And mounting studs and manual override stems are available too. What’s a solenoid valve without a replaceable coil? With Emerson’s product line, all you need is one coil series for any valve size.
The Low-Leak Benchmark
It takes a special company to design a field-rebuildable solenoid valve that meets the industry standard when it comes to external leak rates. That’s exactly what Emerson Climate Technologies did. In fact, the redesigned solenoid valve models don’t just meet the industry standard – they set a new benchmark for external refrigerant leak rates – regardless of whether they are installed in the factory or in the field. During normal operation, solenoid valves can experience wide temperature swings. Over time, these temperature changes decrease the effectiveness of the competitions’ gaskets. The longer the valve has been installed, the higher the leakage rate. Emerson’s new gasket technology minimizes leakage over the life of the valve – keeping leaks well below the industry’s allowable level.

Packing Change Announcement
Filter Drier Cores:D-48, H-48, W-48, UK-48, RH-48, RW-48, RD-48
Effective May 2007, filter drier cores manufactured in our Mexico factory will take on the following design. The old yellow labels will be replaced with the white and blue labels showing the standard dynamic bar. The new labels assign a specific color for each product. The Emerson hologram mark is printed at the top of the can. The product features and PCN numbers remain unchanged.
It is quite possible to see both versions in the market place as it will take time for our wholesalers to deplete stocks of Emerson products with the old packaging design. However, all new products will use the new packaging from now on. Should you have any concerns or require further information, please contact your local representative / sales office.

Measuring Operating Superheat
1) Determine suction pressure with accurate gauge at evaporator outlet. On close coupled installations, suction pressure may be read at compressor suction connection.
2) Determine saturation temperature at observed suction pressure [Temp at P].
3) Measure temperature of suction gas at valve remote bulb location [Temp. at T].
4) Determined the difference between the 2 temperatures. This is the superheat.
